With the price scientifically high-quality and at the same time application orientated work is distinguished, which advances the economic development considerably. To the winners of the yearly 2006 also three coworkers of the university resin belong in Wernigerode: Engineers Matthias head and Jens Uwe Just as well as the computer scientist Christian Reinboth are occupied for several years under the guidance who-Niger-desert pro rector for research and knowledge transfer, Professor Dr. Ulrich Fischer Hirchert, with the development of new systems to the optical data communication. Developed the computer simulation of an optical Demultiplexers, which contributes as component from Datenbertragungssystemen to the extension of the range and thus to the increase of the transmission capacity.

For the marketing of this instructional system as well as further research and volunteer service achievements within the range of the optical high technology the researchers created the HarzOptics GmbH in Wernigerode than technical spin off and possible future institute for on of the university resin together with Professor Dr. Fischer Hirchert. Further application fields are opened among other things in the medical technology, for the automotive engineering and in Inhouse communication (tripolarize Play).

The research price was presented by the rector of the university resin, Professor Dr. Willingmann, by the managing director of the IHK Magdeburg, Wolfgang March, and by the president of the IHK Magdeburg, Dr. Klaus Hieckmann. Further prices went at Dr. painted Kaspereit of the University of Magdeburg and Thomas Beller of the university Magdeburg Stendal.
