Leipziger medical technology enterprise CORTEX erklimmt new heights and mounts the roof of the world

Ergospirometrietest, Cho Oyu (8.201m), 2006 - after the Vorexpedition to the Cho Oyu (Himalaya, 8,201 m), successfully locked in the autumn 2006, prepare the international science team Xtreme Everest and and CORTEX for in the spring the taking place expedition for the Mount Everest. In the context of agreed upon co-operation the CORTEX will support the Xtreme team as Ausstatter and with expert's assessment. With altogether ten mobile systems of the type MetaMax 3B the proven and often sold leading product of the CORTEX is used on the roof of the world. In addition two representatives of the CORTEX will accompany the Xtreme team and for highest scientific accuracy of the measurements will provide.

With this co-operation the enterprise shows once more its world-wide top place in the applied and scientific Ergospirometrie, the analysis of the inhaled gases under physical load. After in the past above all high speed sportsmen could profit from the employment of this modern diagnostic and training method, again-developed products of the Cortex extend for quite some time the area of application enormously. Heart lung diagnosis, training optimization for leisure and hobby sportsmen, weight reduction and nourishing conversion are only some references.

Also in business the CORTEX erklimmt thereby new heights. With an increase in sales of more than 20% in the financial year run off 2006 the best enterprise result in the history of the CORTEX was reached. For 2007 the management expects further increases.

Xtreme Everest - a singular scientific research project: The largest field study, in order to investigate human reactions to hypoxia, which was ever accomplished. Over 200 Freiwillige along the ascent will undergo of a set of tests in several laboratories. This research project will understand to help physicians in the intensive medicine, how humans react to oxygen deficiency and so that to improvements in the medical treatment of seriously ill patients leads.
