By purposeful clearing-up work and a ever more largely becoming consciousness for the real needs of the Sittiche lately a reorientation took place: The trend goes to the swarm attitude. Modern owners have at least two Wellensittiche and to banish plastic seaweeds, mirrors, plastic birds and round cages on the garbage. Who experienced once, how so far a Wellensittich individually held suddenly revives, if he comes into the society of kind comrades, again an individual, lonely bird to never hold will want! The behavior of the charming bent bills in group attitude pulls simply everyone into the spell and is able with dear and jealousy scenes to replace Clownereien and other Sps even the television. The VWFD was created on 06 April 2002 in Cologne to use themselves with the goal, for completely normal Wellensittiche in completely normal households and clear up over the kind-fair attitude of these popular domestic animals. In July 2003 the entry took place in the register of associations. In order to achieve these goals, the association operates a successful, very informative Internet side and a well visited forum. In addition the VWFD in different projects and actions use themselves the joy in Wellensittichen for the well-being of the Wellensittiche, e.g. by consultation of Wellensittichhaltern, by which co-operation with zoo actions, home animal need shops, Tierheimen, breeders, veterinary surgeons and naturally all interested one, have. In October 2006 the association has already approximately 200 members, a number those constantly grows.
